Flake floor coatings

Standard blends use 1/4-inch flakes for a classic decorative finish. The larger pattern helps disguise the everyday dirt and larger debris often found in a garage, while keeping the cost lower than premium flake.

That is why standard is our typical recommendation for garages. It is also a practical choice for workshops, basements, utility rooms, and many commercial spaces.

Choose standard when you want an attractive, versatile finish with a forgiving pattern for everyday use. It can also work on porches and patios if you prefer the larger-flake look.

Premium blends combine 30% 1/4-inch flakes and 70% 1/16-inch flakes. The finer mix is softer on the eyes, with a visually smoother, stone-like appearance that complements the exterior of a home.

That makes premium a frequent choice for porches and patios. It also works in garages, finished basements, and customer-facing commercial spaces where appearance is a priority.

The trade-off: premium blends tend to show dirt and debris more readily than standard flake. Premium adds $0.75 per square foot. Surface texture is selected separately to suit the space.
