Shock Epoxy Coatings, LLC | Macedon, NY
$22–$32 per hour | Paid Time Off & Paid Holidays
Shock Epoxy Coatings is a rapidly expanding concrete coatings company looking for two dependable installers to join our team. We’re looking for people with hands-on industry experience who take pride in their work and want to build a long-term future with a growing company.
Our residential and commercial projects include decorative flake, quartz, metallic epoxy, solid-color coatings, grind and seal, polished concrete, and urethane cement flooring. You’ll work on a variety of projects and develop your skills alongside our installation leads.
What you’ll do
- Prepare concrete using large floor grinders, hand grinders, shot blasters, crack chasers, and dust collection equipment.
- Remove existing coatings, repair cracks and surface defects, and complete edge grinding and other preparation.
- Measure, mix, and install epoxy, polyaspartic, polyurea, urethane, and urethane cement systems.
- Install flake and quartz broadcasts, scrape and vacuum floors, and apply primers, base coats, and finish coats.
- Follow product mixing ratios, working times, and application procedures.
- Assist with integral cove and other specialty flooring details as needed.
- Load, unload, clean, and maintain tools, equipment, and materials.
- Keep jobsites organized, follow safe work practices, and represent Shock Epoxy professionally.
- Work efficiently with the team while maintaining consistent, high-quality results.
Experience & qualifications
- Ideally, 1–3 years of hands-on experience in resinous flooring or concrete coatings, but this is not a strict requirement. We’ll consider applicants with less experience who demonstrate relevant skills, reliability, and a willingness to learn. More experienced installers are also encouraged to apply.
- Familiarity with concrete preparation equipment and basic coating installation.
- Strong attention to detail, a dependable work ethic, and a team-oriented attitude.
- Ability to perform physical installation work, including standing, kneeling, bending, and moving equipment and materials.
- Reliable transportation to our shop in Macedon, NY.
You do not need to know every system we install. We’re willing to provide additional training to someone who knows the basics and wants to improve. Experience with urethane cement, integral cove, commercial projects, or crew leadership is a plus.
Pay & growth opportunities
- $22–$32 per hour, based on relevant experience, equipment proficiency, installation skills, and level of responsibility.
- The upper end of the range is intended for applicants with strong experience who can work independently and take on leadership responsibilities.
- A performance and pay review after 60 days, based on workmanship, productivity, reliability, and demonstrated skills. Pay increases depend on performance.
- Opportunities to learn additional flooring systems and take on greater responsibility as the company grows.
Benefits, schedule & travel
- Paid time off and paid holidays.
- Two full-time positions, typically 40–45 hours per week.
- Weekend work is rare.
- Report to our shop in Macedon; most projects are in the Rochester area.
- Occasional larger projects take place in Syracuse or Buffalo.
- Some employees may drive company vehicles. A valid driver’s license is required for those duties; all applicants must have reliable transportation to the shop.
